The Somfy Ecosystem
One platform,
everything connected.
TaHoma® Switch
The central hub of the Somfy system — connects all your motors, sensors and controls into a single app. Schedule automations, create scenes and control everything remotely. Compatible with Alexa, Google Home and Apple HomeKit as standard. Controls up to 60 Zigbee products or 40 RTS channels from one device.
Somfy RTS
The radio frequency system that allows Somfy motors and controls to communicate wirelessly — no signal wiring between controls and motors. Compatible with over 100 partner manufacturers including Philips Hue, Nest and Ring.
io-homecontrol®
Somfy's premium two-way communication protocol — the motor not only receives commands but sends confirmation back to the controller. Allows precise positioning, fault detection and full integration with professional home automation platforms.
Zigbee 3.0
The latest generation of Somfy motors use Zigbee 3.0 — an interoperable, globally adopted IoT protocol that creates a mesh network, allowing smart devices to communicate reliably even if one device fails. Provides two-way feedback including shade position and battery level.
Scenario Programming
Create programmes that automatically adjust your blinds based on time of day, sunrise and sunset, weather conditions or room occupancy — all configurable through the TaHoma® app. Set thermal comfort routines, away modes and wake-up scenes.
Somfy Synergy™ API
Somfy's professional API allows deep integration with Control4, Crestron, Savant, Lutron and other leading home automation platforms — enabling two-way communication, blind positioning data and advanced scene building for high-specification residential and commercial installations.
Third-Party Integrations
Works with the platforms
you already use.
Control4
Full two-way integration — blinds respond to scenes, occupancy sensors and time-of-day programming.
Crestron
Professional-grade integration for high-specification residential and commercial AV installations.
Rako
Wireless lighting control integration — link blinds and lighting into coordinated scenes throughout your home.
Amazon Alexa
Voice control via any Alexa device — raise, lower or adjust blinds by room using natural language commands.
Google Home
Full Google Assistant compatibility — works with Google Home speakers, Nest devices and the Google Home app.
Apple HomeKit
Siri control and integration with the Apple Home app — including automation triggers from other HomeKit devices.
Loxone
Intelligent building automation — link blinds to weather stations, temperature sensors and energy management systems.
Philips Hue
Coordinate blind movements with your Hue lighting — create scenes that adjust light and blinds simultaneously.
Power Options
The right motor for
every installation.
Battery Powered
Rechargeable lithium-ion battery packs power the motor without any wiring — ideal for retrofits and installations where electrical work would be disruptive. Battery life typically 6–12 months depending on usage. Rechargeable via USB with no access equipment required in most cases. The most popular option for retrofit installations in existing homes.
Mains Wired
A discreet mains spur provides continuous power — zero battery management, zero charging, unlimited operation cycles. The definitive long-term solution specified during construction or major refurbishment when cable routes can be built in. Completely silent operation and the recommended choice for high-specification installations.
Solar Powered
A small solar panel charges the battery continuously from ambient light — completely self-sufficient in south and west-facing applications. No charging cable, no electrician, no ongoing battery management. Ideal for conservatories, roof lanterns and any glazing with good natural light exposure throughout the day.
